My Left Foot DVD

An inspiring and highly acclaimed film based on the incredible true life story of Irish writer and artist Christy Brown (Daniel Day-Lewis). Born with crippling cerebral palsy into a poor working-class Irish family, Brown is mistakenly believed to be retarded and helpless. However, using the only part of his body he can control, his left foot, and with the help of his strong-willed mother (Brenda Fricker) he learns to write and paint. Through courage and determination Brown becomes one of Ireland's foremost literary figures and artists.
